Hormone Consulting for Men

Helping Men Restore Strength, Energy, and Vitality

Like women, men can also go through mid-life changes. Hormone replacement with testosterone for men is as important as estrogen replacement for women. Andropause is the period in a man’s life when testosterone levels diminish. Low testosterone in men is called hypogonadism.

Men’s hormone levels peak around age 30 and diminish by 1% yearly. So, if a man has a low normal level at a younger age, he is apt to have a below normal testosterone when he is 40 or older.

Testosterone is the main sex hormone in a man. It is responsible for:

  • Libido
  • Erectile Function
  • Sperm Production
  • Bone density
  • Muscle mass growth
  • Energy
  • Motivation
  • Fat distribution

A testosterone lab test measuring “free and total” testosterone is worth getting if any of the following symptoms are present in a man:

  • Low libido
  • Muscle loss
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Infertility
  • Fatigue
  • Lack of motivation
  • Depression and irritability
  • Belly fat
  • Brain fog
  • Hair thinning
  • Hot flashes
  • Sleep disturbances

A Personalized Approach to Restoring Healthy Testosterone Levels

Supporting healthy testosterone starts with the foundations of wellness. Strength training, quality sleep, maintaining a healthy weight, stress management, and reducing alcohol intake can all play an important role in naturally supporting hormone balance and overall vitality.

A Hormone Consultation with Dr. Ingalls includes a detailed review of health questionnaires, a thorough medical history, and lab planning to determine whether testosterone replacement is appropriate. At your follow-up visit, lab results are carefully reviewed and a personalized treatment plan is created. If testosterone therapy is recommended, the available medication options will be discussed to choose the best fit for your goals, including options for men who wish to preserve fertility and those for whom fertility is not a priority.
